• RBLR at the Ace Cafe 2012

The Riders branch of the Royal British Legion held their annual meet at the Ace Cafe on May  27th 2012. The meet was blessed with glorious weather and the turnout of bikes was impressive. Members had travelled far and wide on a great variety of bikes. It was my first time at the Ace and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable, especially by London standards. I was pleased that the Ace wasn’t an American pastiche but a no-nonsense cafe. The RBLR put on a great day and it was nice to meet and chat to like-minded individuals all united by the bond of motorcycling and to support the aims of the Royal British Legion.

Live music was provided by Hells Gazelles and they went down a storm with the crowd and kindly donated a percentage of sales of their EP to the cause. The raffle was also very popular, the draw nearly eclipsed the Eurovision Song Contest voting process for longevity so plentiful were the prizes, and the net result was also much better.

All in all from my point of view it seemed an excellent day and I hope for the RBLR when it is all totted up it was for them as well.

If you are not a member then I would urge you to consider it clicking here will take you straight to the page to join or you can find out more by clicking the RBLR. The RBLR is open to all both those that have served and those who support the aims of the Royal British Legion. The primary bond for members of the RBLR is motorcycles and you can ride anything or even just share the passion to be involved.

The gallery can be opened by clicking on the thumbnail and as ever comments or critiques would be welcomed. If you would like a copy of any pictures please get in touch I would be especially pleased to offer photos to anyone willing to use them in promotion of the RBLR.
