Pistonheads Sunday Service’s are something rather special and if you ever get the chance to attend one then take it.

The normal format is a special location with a set numbers of attendees permitted depending upon the size of the venue. Great cars and bikes, breakfast and drooling………….

This one was held at the Heritage Motor Centre although the hosts for the event were Jaguar Land Rover. As ever there was a great mix and despite the meet being in March on a damp day it didn’t deter the drivers of the exotica.

The gallery can be reached by either clicking on the thumbnail or here and as always any comments or critiques are always welcomed.

We made a visit to the wonderful Apenheul Foundation in August 2012 and whilst the weather tried to play a part in ruining the day it failed. For anyone that has never visited, you are missing out and I would strongly recommend that if you are ever in the Netherlands you set aside a day to visit Apeldoorn or more specifically Apenheul in Apeldoorn.

Right from your arrival in the grounds and the cheeky Spider Monkeys the tone is set for an experience you will want to repeat. The enclosures are all very carefully planned to provide habitats as close as possible to the natural environs of the different species and for the primates to feel right at home. As far as possible glass and cages are avoided and the vistas are special. One of the highlights are the band of Gorillas led by the majestic Silverback and if you coincide your visit with one of the feeding times you will witness how the Gorillas function as a unit and also the hierarchy within the band.

The gallery of photos can be reached by clicking on the picture or alternatively here. We hope that you enjoy the gallery and if anyone would like a copy of any photos please use the contact form.

If you enjoy your visit it would really make us pleased if you would make a donation to our chosen charity the Poppy Appeal. If you would like further details of Apenheul their website can be found at www.apenheul.com

The purpose of the visit was to give the scooterists a chance to pay their respects to those that have fallen and also a chance to spare a thought for those still serving. Some fund-raising was also undertaken on behalf of the Poppy Appeal.

A wreath was laid in the Armed Forces Memorial which forms the centrepiece of the National Memorial Arboretum and the spot chosen was close to the names of two Warwickshire lad that have sadly been added recently. It is always moving visiting the NMA and this visit was no exception.

I would like to offer my thanks to Mark “Kingy” King for giving me the chance to accompany them on the day and I would recommend all those that have never made a visit, it is well worth it. Hopefully the gallery gives an impression of the day and the Arboretum. There were also a group of Gold Wing riders visiting on the day which provided quite a contrast, the common link though the love of two wheels and paying respect.

The gallery can be reached by either clicking on the thumbnail or here and as always any comments or critiques are always welcomed. The run started in Coventry at the home of the All Or Nothing Scooter Club and joined up with other riders in Fazeley.

I had been invited to ride up with them but opted to head straight up to the NMA to photograph the arrival. The scooterists never fail to look impressive and it was nice to see about 250 scooters riding in on scooters of all ages and styles.

It has now become a popular tradition of the fair that the fairholder gives a ‘golden key’ to the Chairman of the Council who officially opens the fair. This takes place at 4.00pm on the Wednesday afternoon of fair week in front of Banbury Town Hall. The Chairman and the Town Mayor of Banbury then tour the fair and the entourage of children who follow are given one free ride when each ride or carousel is struck with the ‘golden key’.

Willie Wilson presents the fair and draws together a good number of rides, a lot taking part on a number of the Back End Mop fairs around the Midlands.

The line up this year saw some new attractions and an alteration to the layout. It was a good night although marred for me by camera issues. My gallery is therefore made up of mostly new images although topped up with a few images from a previous Mop.

Southam played host to the Retro Revival on September 29th. The theme for this years event was the 1960′s and the streets played host to an impressive display of cars and bikes. It was wonderfully warm Autumn day and it certainly helped bring out the crowds.

Live entertainment took place in the Market Square and there was also a selection of stalls from local community groups.

The event was a credit to the organisers and whilst not all the cars and bikes were representative of the era the interlopers that were allowed in didn’t detract from the theme. It is a credit to the forward thinkers that events such as this and Daventry Motorcycle Festival bring good numbers of visitors into the town centres, it’s a shame that Rugby First aren’t a little more proactive in promoting something. It has worked previously with the Sheene Run for example.

The two-wheeled fraternity were well represented with healthy numbers of Scooters and Triumphs as well as various other machines.

The gallery can be reached by either clicking on the thumbnail or here and as always any comments or critiques are always welcomed.
The gallery is currently showing some photos that are not correctly orientated and this will be corrected shortly.
