The 2012 European Finals at Santa Pod

Life sometimes throws us curve balls, and the past 12 months have seen a few of those. One of the results, was nigh on 12 months of filling my lungs with everything but Nitro, Methanol and  Track glue. The looming European Finals and an offer from Ian and Laura Turburville to attend was an opportunity too good to miss, and also one for which I was extremely grateful. 12 months of catching up and a non stop diet of on track action was thoroughly enjoyable. For all the friends that I met it was great to see you again and for all the ones I missed sorry, but I will be back.

I couldn’t make the Thursday but camera cleaned and a weather forecast that looked too good to be true, Santa Pod beckoned. My favourite shots over the years have all been taken from the pitside fence but I had heard that there was a new fence and it wasnt very friendly. I was disappointed to see the fence was as bad as I had heard and also told that this was an improved version. I found a couple of spots where pictures were still possible but I am sure they are only an interim opportunity and I spent two days pitside and one day on the bank.

So here is a plea to Santa Pod how about some holes for photographers PLEASE. Even if it meant paying for them I am sure they would be taken up and they work at other venues.

You wont find a gallery of hundreds of photos and I hope the ones I did take you enjoy. There is a mix of everything from the Juniors to Top Fuel and both Two and Four Wheels, sometimes Three!
