The Banbury Michaelmas Fair is held each year in October in the centre  of Banbury.  The fair opens on Wednesday at 4.00pm and  stays until late on Friday. It has now become a popular  tradition of the fair that the fairholder gives a ‘golden key’ to the  Chairman of the Council who officially opens the fair. This takes place  at 4.00pm on the Wednesday afternoon of fair week in front of Banbury  Town Hall. The Chairman and the Town Mayor of Banbury then tour the fair and the entourage of children who follow are given one free ride when  each ride or carousel is struck with the ‘golden key’.

Willie Wilson presents the fair and draws together a good number of rides, a lot taking part on a number of the Back End Mop fairs around the Midlands.

The gallery can be reached by either clicking on the thumbnail or here and as always any comments or critiques are always welcomed. I would be willing to supply photos to anyone that would like a copy and if you are really impressed you may care to make a donation to either of our supported charities by clicking on either the Poppy Appeal or Cancer Research

I hope you enjoy the gallery and any comments or feedback would be appreciated. Please feel free to share the links by the various social media options amongst your friends.
