Southam played host to the Retro Revival on September 29th. The theme for this years event was the 1960’s and the streets played host to an impressive display of cars and bikes. It was wonderfully warm Autumn day and it certainly helped bring out the crowds.
Live entertainment took place in the Market Square and there was also a selection of stalls from local community groups.
The event was a credit to the organisers and whilst not all the cars and bikes were representative of the era the interlopers that were allowed in didn’t detract from the theme. It is a credit to the forward thinkers that events such as this and Daventry Motorcycle Festival bring good numbers of visitors into the town centres, it’s a shame that Rugby First aren’t a little more proactive in promoting something. It has worked previously with the Sheene Run for example.
The two-wheeled fraternity were well represented with healthy numbers of Scooters and Triumphs as well as various other machines.
