The Warwickshire Scooter Alliance organised a run to the National Memorial Arboretum on October 21st 2012. The purpose of the visit was to give the scooterists a chance to pay their respects to those that have fallen and also a chance to spare a thought for those still serving. Some fund-raising was also undertaken on behalf of the Poppy Appeal.
A wreath was laid in the Armed Forces Memorial which forms the centrepiece of the National Memorial Arboretum and the spot chosen was close to the names of two Warwickshire lad that have sadly been added recently. It is always moving visiting the NMA and this visit was no exception.
I would like to offer my thanks to Mark “Kingy” King for giving me the chance to accompany them on the day and I would recommend all those that have never made a visit, it is well worth it. Hopefully the gallery gives an impression of the day and the Arboretum. There were also a group of Gold Wing riders visiting on the day which provided quite a contrast, the common link though the love of two wheels and paying respect.
The gallery can be reached by either clicking on the thumbnail or here and as always any comments or critiques are always welcomed. I would be willing to supply photos to anyone that would like a copy and if you are really impressed you may care to make a donation to either of our supported charities by clicking on either the Poppy Appeal or Cancer Research
I hope you enjoy the gallery and any comments or feedback would be appreciated. Please feel free to share the links by the various social media options amongst your friends.
